Congratulations!

John Bunting, CA, has returned to PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP’s British Columbia practice after working for three years at the firm’s Toronto office. Bunting is a partner in PwC’s Audit and Assurance group, and has over 18 years of experience in providing external audit, transaction support, regulatory compliance, and reporting services to public and private companies in consumer and industrial products. He has assisted clients with operations in both Canada and the US, and has experience with international accounting and reporting principles.

Valerie Lambert, CA, became the executive director of Big Brothers of Greater Vancouver on September 17, 2007. Her past experience includes serving as VP of BC Gas, an energy analyst for the East Asia Region for the World Bank, and treasurer of BC Hydro. She chaired the Foundation of BC Women’s Hospital for two years, and currently serves on the boards of Crofton House School and the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs. In addition, Lambert serves as an occasional guest lecturer at UBC, where she is also a member of the Client Committee of the portfolio Management Foundation.

Sang-Kiet, Ly, CA, became a partner with KPMG LLP in Victoria, effect-ive October 1, 2007.

George Morfitt, FCA, was appointed vice-chair of a nine-member pharmaceutical task force recently created to explore pharmaceutical policy, provide advice to government on how best to maximize value for patients and value for money, and examine ways to continually improve the pharmaceutical approval process. The task force has been asked to provide its advice by Jan. 31, 2008. Morfitt spent 20 years as a chief financial officer before serving two terms as Auditor General of BC. He has held senior executive positions in a number of organizations, including serving as president of the ICABC, chair of the Universities Council of BC, and chair of the University of BC’s board of governors. He is also a recipient of the ICABC’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

Jill M. Sing, CA, an associate with Hayes Stewart Little & Company in Victoria, has earned the chartered financial analyst (CFA) designation. Sing has worked in the financial industry for 21 years, and also holds the Canadian investment manager (CIM), life insurance licence, and certified financial planner (CFP) designations.
