New year, new look: Notes from the Editor Beyond Numbers · January 2007 With the new year comes a new look and feel for Beyond Numbers magazine. Our previous design served us well, but after five years we were eager to change things up. The result—we hope you agree—is a fresher, more vibrant magazine that better reflects the dynamic nature of the profession and our members and students. Case in point this month: our UFE Honour Roll students. Next month, look for profiles of BC’s newest FCAs and Lifetime Achievement Award winners.
As we set about creating this latest redesign, we had the benefit of member feedback from the 2005 readership survey to guide us. Member feedback also informed our decision to drop from ten to eight issues annually, effective this year. Specifically, the August and December issues have been removed from the editorial calendar, freeing up resources for other projects.
I value your feedback now as well, and welcome you to send any comments or questions about the new format or schedule to my attention at mcrae@ica.bc.ca.
Best wishes in 2007!
