This seminar will provide an introduction to the current compliance requirements under Sarbanes-Oxley in the US and Bill 198 in Canada. The seminar will provide a general discussion of the types of internal controls that need to be documented, tested, evaluated, and reported on; as well as the types of control deficiencies that might be discovered as a result of this evaluation process.

PSAB Update—Covering Your Assets
This seminar will address the issue of accounting and reporting capital assets. Topics will include: conceptual frameworks and what they mean; key definitions, such as the definition of a tangible capital asset; what the financial statement might look like; what the key indicators of position and results mean; accounting for capital grants; and transitional provisions.
