About Continuing Professional Development (CPD)Continuing Professional Development is an ongoing program of learning which empowers members to engage in learning activities to enhance their capabilities and competency in their professional roles. In order to maintain public trust, and to uphold the reputation of the CA designation, all members must constantly update their professional knowledge. Effective January 1, 2008, the mandatory CPD requirements for all members of the ICABC were aligned with the International Federation of Accountants’ (IFAC) CPD standards. As all of the provincial CA institutes across Canada have also adopted the IFAC standards, this brings greater harmonization to the CPD requirements for CAs across Canada and their counterparts around the world. Part 10 - Continuing Professional Development of the ICABC’s bylaws governs CPD for all Institute members. |
