Commemorative Paintings by Bob McMurray, FCA, AFCA

In anticipation of the 2005 centenary, the ICABC commissioned Bob McMurray, FCA, AFCA, to paint three scenes depicting BC's economic and regional diversity. These paintings are now on display at the Institute offices in downtown Vancouver.

“From the Water” – Oil, Triptych, 42" x 120"

The Vancouver waterfront from Main to Howe Street reflects the transition of the city from its Gastown area to the financial and business district... a centre of commercial activity on the West Coast of Canada. Work boats and pleasure boats abound in the waters of Vancouver harbour as a Seabus ferry readies for its trip to the north shore of Burrard Inlet.

Commemorative Sculptures by Clifford Fettman

The evening of September 21, 2005, marked the third of the Institute's centenary events. Held in Kelowna in conjunction with the annual general meeting of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants, the event was attended by both local-area members and guests from across the country.

Two groups—one representing the profession nationally, the other representing the Western provincial institutes—gave the ICABC soapstone carvings by Canadian artist Clifford Fettman in commemoration of the 100-year anniversary. These sculptures are now on display at the Institute offices in downtown Vancouver.
